Raphael Awóṣéyìn, Chief Marketing Officer of Qobuz, told StereoNET: Through each short docu-film, we are introduced to three members of the Qobuz community who explain their relationship to music and the importance of sound quality, musical discovery, and human recommendations in their daily lives - Aline Melo, singer/jazz and bossa nova enthusiast Perceval Carré, sound engineer in pursuit of sonic perfection and Kisa, DJ and avid collector. Additionally, three short docu-films showcase personal narratives, highlighting how Qobuz stands apart. The video features commentary by Qobuz's Chief Marketing Officer, Raphael Awóṣéyìn, and Chief Music Officer, Marc Zisman. The campaign is built around a 'hero' film, Qobuz - 15 Years Of Passion & Musical Discovery which you can watch below. The company states that it features people who live and breathe their passion for music with the support of Qobuz's unique and enriching music experience. Qobuz has marked the anniversary by celebrating its community of dedicated music enthusiasts through a campaign conceived and produced by the creative production company Left. The platform has offered its community an elevated listening and exploration experience for fifteen years through human-curated playlists, unique editorial content, artist interviews, liner notes, and more. It's also been a very stable app during the times I used it.Since 2007 Qobuz has helped unearth new artists and tracks for listeners as well as enabled them to enjoy and rediscover old favourites. However, unless I do specific A/B comparisons, I wouldn't say that the sound quality using ConnectHD is bad. I found that ConnectHD tends to offer up a narrower soundstage compared to the other options. I can consistently hear a difference between ConnectHD and Roon/Qobuz UPnP, but it's not a massive difference and one, when bearing in mind App cost, is one that most can likely live with. It's purely a matter of stability for me. If that does happen and it's more stable as a result, I'll very likely drop Roon.ĭuring extensive listening tests, I cannot hear any difference between Roon (the way I use it) and Qobuz direct via UPnP. I suspect, but don't know, that Qobuz will get that Beta version working better in order to compete with Tidal and their new Tidal Connect option. In fairness, the Qobuz UPnP option is clearly denoted as a Beta version at present. When I stream directly from Qobuz on my MacBook to my amp using UPnP, I occasionally get drop outs. I'm not sure I'll renew it next year, but I'll make that decision there and then, no need to decide now. I've bought an annual subscription to Roon. Justmeagain: PC, Ipad, Panasonic TX-50CX802B, Yamaha RX-A2050 Receiver, Monitor Audio Apex surround system speakers. I prefer not to connect the ipad via wire/lightening cable direct to the receiver. Are there any methods of streaming Qobuz Hi-Res material from an ipad to my Yamaha receiver while keeping the original hi-res quality? The Yamaha has a superb DAC for hi-res music and can play most formats including FLAC (which I tend to use). This means any music being sent by the ios Qobuz app to my receiver via Bluetooth looses quality. I recently found out that Bluetooth compresses sound files. Sometimes I play my purchases via bluetooth if I can't be bothered to turn the computer on upstairs to connect the ethernet connected server. I usually do this for new music I have not heard. However, I also regularly stream Qobuz Hi-Res music from my Ipad (2020) via bluetooth to the receiver. The sound is then played through a Monitor Audio Apex surround system. I have purchased quite a few Hi-Res albums off the service which I stream from my PC over the network via ethernet to a Yamaha RX-A2050 Receiver. I have used Qobuz music streaming for 5 years and am more than pleased with it.
